Our Head of School, Mr Simon Lees was asked a few questions in the recent Chronicle article, highlighting the education leaders of our region who are inspiring the next generation of learners. Take a look at what he had to say.
How long have you been at your current school?
I started at Toowoomba Anglican School in 2014.
How long have you worked as a principal?
I'm heading into my 10th year as Head of School.
Where did your teaching career first begin and when?
My teaching career began as a Geography and Physical Education teacher in England in 1997.
Did you always want to be a teacher? If yes, why? and if no, what did you want to do?
When I was at University I was not sure what I wanted to do. It was not until I worked with disadvantaged children in Northern Ireland as part of a summer recreation program that I realised that I wanted to work in education. It's a decision I've never regretted.
What do you love most about being a principal?
I love working and engaging with children and having a positive influence on their futures. It's a great honour to be able to lead a school and I love my job.
