OSHC and TAS Hub

Toowoomba Anglican School Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) is a licensed Early Childhood Education and Care Service for TAS school children in Prep to Year 6. The OSHC program is based on active learning and social development in a leisure setting.

At OSHC we consistently strive to enhance the quality of our care. Our educators are qualified and enthusiastic. Our experienced coordinators are strongly committed to developing programs that meet the needs of children and their families. TASOSHC is an on-campus facility where children are kindly and safely cared for, out of school hours. It’s a place where children are happy to be and belong.

Our Vacation Care Program known as TAS Hub, is packed full of fun with a different theme guiding the activities each day. Find more details about each day in TAS Hub below:

Statement of Commitment

The following Statement of Commitment seeks to provide a foundation to reflect, encourage, and support a child-safe culture. The Statement is to be implemented by all persons within an Anglican School or Education and Care Service.

Anglican Schools and Education & Care Services are committed to providing environments where children and young people receive the highest standard of care, where their rights are supported, and where they have the opportunity to thrive and be fruitful. Such environments nurture and safeguard the intelligence, dignity, safety, and well-being of each child or young person, by placing them at the center of thought, values, and actions.

As reflected in our Ethos, our vocation is education, driven by a vision of humanity, shaped by the image of God made visible in Jesus, present in every human being.

Our faith is lived. We are hospitable and welcoming communities, who embody compassion, kindness, fairness, justice, and love, and where exceptional pastoral care is practiced.

Working and serving the best interests of children and young people is in everyone’s best interest. This is achieved through sustaining living and learning environments that are safe, supportive, and stimulating. Specifically, we:

This commitment is sought to be consistently reflected through the decisions and behaviour of all persons within the School or Service, who are guided by effective governance, policies, tools, and processes. This fosters a child-safe culture, where acting in children and young people’s best interests is at the heart of what we do.

OSHC and TAS Hub Rules and Expectations

The health and safety of our families and staff are of utmost importance and we will take steps in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment that will keep people as safe as possible. Remember, if your child is unwell, they should stay at home.

  • Children require neat, casual clothes, water bottle, a hat (broad-brimmed school hat or bucket hat), sports shoes only (due to safety requirements children will be asked to leave and return with the appropriate footwear) and have sunscreen applied before attending Vacation Care.  Children will have sunscreen reapplied throughout the day.
  • Please fill in the parent communication book if you need to pass on any information to staff or otherwise inform staff on arrival.
  • Lunch Boxes – Please pack an adequate and nutritious morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and water each day. We encourage and recommend fresh fruits, sandwiches, cheese, crackers, yoghurts etc. Please refrain from high sugar/high fat foods. Please supply your child(ren) with a water bottle also.
  • Medical requirements: If applicable, please ensure you complete the Administration of Medication permission form and required medication is delivered to staff (e.g. Asthma Puffer, epi-pen, anti-histamines).
  • Please note that expensive items from home are not permitted except where they are requested as part of a particular day’s program.
  • Emergency and evacuation drills will occur during the Vacation Care program to ensure safe and expedient evacuation in the unlikely event of a real emergency occurring.
