School Communication

School App

The main form of parent communication is via the School App. The App is available for download through the App Store for iPhone users or Google Play for Android. The app and Parent Lounge is the only place where Absentees can be registered with the school. School communication about General Notices, Sports, Performing Arts and Clubs will also be delivered through the school App. The App has useful resources such as:

Apple Shop

Google Play

Parent Lounge

The Parent Lounge enables parents to login and view information that the School holds about you and your children. Parent Lounge will give you access to School Reports, School Calendar, task details, Parent Directory, to name a few.

As a new family, the week before school commences, reception will inform you of your login details. As a current family, if you have trouble logging in, please contact the School Reception.

Access Your Parent Lounge.

Social Media

Follow our FacebookInstagram and LinkedIn accounts, where highlights are posted.

Email

The key form of parent communication is formal correspondence sent via email, unless it is related to Sport or Performing Arts which is sent via the App. Each subject line will be event-specific and be sent from the relevant department (eg. Primary Year's Office) to allow parents to search past correspondence.  For events that require families to register interest, google forms are often used, rather than return slips (a hyperlink is provided in the email).

Each staff member and each student from Year 3 has their own email address through the school’s email servers.

We aim to respond to emails within 24 hours but staff members are not expected to check emails between 5.30pm and 7.30am or on weekends.

Absences

If a student is absent on any given day, using your Parent Lounge access, notify the school of your child being away, stating the reason for being absent, using the ‘Absences’ side tab on the menu.

If a student arrives late for school, they are required to sign in at the Student Services Desk located in the library. Signing in allows us to change the listing from ‘unexplained absence’ to 'present', and account for all students on site.

For planned absences and long term absences, please write to Mr Locke (Primary) or Ms Faint (Secondary) noting your plans.

Early Departures

If you need to collect your son/daughter early, please send an email to their Classroom Teacher or Home Group Teacher, including [email protected]

Primary students departing early from school must be collected from the Student Services Desk in the library.

Secondary students departing early need to have their note signed by Home Group Teacher/Ms Faint or the parent must send an email to the Home Group Teacher/Ms Faint/reception.

Secondary students are required to sign out at Student Services before leaving the school grounds. Students will not be permitted to sign out if the Student Services Officer has not been notified of parental approval.

After morning rolls have been marked, a member of the administration team will call/text parents of students who have an ‘unexplained absence’.

Allergy Aware School

A reminder that we are an allergy aware school. We ask that parents do not send students to school with known allergen products in their lunch (any nuts are banned) and as a school, we do not provide any food containing known allergen products.

We also ask parents of older students to repeat our message regarding not using aerosol deodorant cans at school. A full copy of the Anaphlyaxis Policy is available from the school should parents wish to view the document.

24-Hour Health Centre

If your son/daughter becomes unwell whilst at school, we have a fully-equipped Health Centre. Fully-qualified registered nursing staff are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Should your son/daughter be admitted to the Health Centre, our nursing staff will be in contact with you as soon as practicable.
