Toowoomba Anglican School (TAS) has a proud tradition of providing exceptional education that stretches back to its establishment in 1911. Our school offers a unique day and boarding experience, proudly embracing a co-educational environment where students learn alongside each other, fostering mutual respect, understanding and collaboration.
We believe in and demonstrate the strength of diversity. Our motto ‘Together we are TAS’ reflects our commitment to unity and inclusivity, ensuring that every single student feels valued and supported in our unique and vibrant community.
Achieving academic milestones is only half the story. TAS is renowned for providing a comprehensive education that empowers students to excel, grow personally and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Education is not just about mastering facts but about developing the skills and mindset to navigate an ever-changing world. We cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment, where everyone is encouraged to collaborate and play a part.
Understanding comes from appreciating the constituent parts of a whole. We believe in the power of interdisciplinary learning, where students question, make connections across different subject areas and gain a deeper understanding of the world.
The next phase of our Strategic Plan has been developed in consultation with students, parents, staff and our Governing body. From this consultation, we have developed a more succinct series of values that we can all rally around and what better way to symbolise our school values than with our very own Cape Chestnut tree. Our Core Values are Together we BELIEVE, Together we CARE, Together we LEARN and Together we THRIVE. We plan to infuse these values into our traditions, events, and curriculum from this year onwards.
Failure is an essential part of growth and learning. We create an environment where students are encouraged to embrace failure as their personal catalyst for personal development and achievement.
We encourage our students to embrace failure with resilience and determination, enabling them to develop the skills, mindset and confidence needed to succeed in every aspect of their lives.

Teachers, students, staff and families, we can all learn from each other. We cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment, where students, staff and parents are encouraged to collaborate and engage in the educational journey together.
TAS values a sense of belonging and community, treating students, staff and families as part of a larger family, where support and care are extended to all members of the school community.

Nurturing creativity is essential for academic success. Our dynamic learning environment combines rigorous academics with a rich tapestry of creative opportunities, empowering students to excel in both realms.
Creativity takes root in a nurturing environment. We provide a safe and welcoming boarding community for students, a home-away-from-home where friendships flourish and students thrive academically and personally.
Mr Johnstone, Head of School
To believe is to have faith, confidence and trust in God, yourself and others.
Grounded in the rich traditions of the Anglican faith, at TAS we stand united in our shared beliefs, shaping a vibrant community with values of compassion, respect and inclusivity, guiding all of us in our moral and spiritual development.
To care is to do what is necessary for the health, welfare, maintenance and protection of yourself, someone or something.
By teaching and learning as a community, we uphold our ethos of ‘Together we Care’, which extends to every aspect of our community. We believe in caring for each other, for our environment, and for the wider world, instilling in our students a deep sense of responsibility and compassion.
To learn is to gain knowledge or understanding of a skill by study, instruction, teaching or experience.
To learn at TAS is to immerse oneself in an environment that values academic excellence, personal growth and community engagement. Learning goes beyond the confines of the classroom, with a wide range of subjects and extracurricular activities that encourage students to explore their interests and passions.
To thrive is to flourish. Thriving is all about working on your personal growth and resilience.
Situated on the picturesque edge of the Great Dividing range, TAS provides a stunning backdrop for learning and personal growth. We are more than just a school; we are a close-knit family, dedicated to nurturing excellence in every student.
