Congratulations to Secondary Teacher and Assistant House Parent, Teagan Deer who has been named a Rising Star as a part of The Educator's 2023 Rising Stars Awards!
Teagan has been selected as an up-and-coming leader who is making her mark in the ever-changing vocation of education. The Educator’s Rising Stars are nominated by colleagues for their expertise, strength of character, willingness to innovate, their passion and their vision. In addition to those attributes, each of the educators acknowledged shares an ability to lead, and their work speaks to the tremendous efforts being undertaken in schools everywhere to embrace the kind of change necessary to thrive in the 21st century.
Teagan is a valued member of staff who commenced at Toowoomba Anglican School in 2021 and teaches within our Secondary school, and is a House Parent in our Boarding Precinct for students in Years 1-8. Teagan has also introduced an all-boys netball team within secondary, competing against other schools throughout 2023. A notable quote from Teagan is, "My philosophy is that all students, no matter what path life takes, will leave my classroom with a level of scientific literacy that will allow them to be valuable and impactful contributors to our world."
