P&F and Foundation

P & F

The Parents & Friends Association host a number of important events during the school year to unite the Toowoomba Anglican School community socially and secondly to raise funds to support funding of future school projects that directly benefit the students.

Each year, our Parents and Friends Association dedicate their time, energy and effort into planning and hosting events that work to directly benefit and serve the school and its students. On any day, our wonderful volunteers can be found quietly packing tuckshop lunches in the TASpressos Café, serving behind the canteen at carnivals, setting up and packing down for school events, or meeting to plan an event themselves. Alongside the valuable contribution of their time, our P&F members organise fundraisers throughout the school year, the profit of which they sew back into the school.

We are deeply grateful for the proactive efforts of our P&F Association, and we hope to see continued growth in this area in the future. If you would like to become involved, reach out to your year-level class representative, email P&[email protected], or attend one of our monthly meetings with our active and passionate association members.

Many of us underestimate the importance of volunteering - volunteering at Toowoomba Anglican School means so much to your son/daughter, fellow parents and the school. Research has shown that students with parents who are actively engaged in school activities are more likely to achieve academically and less likely to have behaviour problems. Seeing their parents putting effort in at school reinforces to them the importance of school.

The TAS Foundation

More than a century ago, our School was founded with ample vision and the abundant goodwill of a supportive and giving community. Its establishment was a bold and significant venture on the part of its first headmaster, Ernest Albert Gill.

Some of the meaningful ways the Foundation supports students are through the provision of scholarships, bursaries and the development of new buildings and amenities.

With the passing of 11 decades and multiple generations of families associated with the School, Toowoomba Anglican School has emerged as a living example of education at its finest. Along the way, a strong belief in the School’s spirit and purpose has been aided by generous philanthropic support to enhance educational opportunities for all our students.

The Toowoomba Anglican School Foundation exists to further inspire funding for the School’s ongoing development and to provide prudent management of existing and future funds.

The Gill Society - Bequests

The Gill Society, named in honour of the School's first Headmaster, Ernest Albert Gill, recognises those individuals who bequeath to the school as part of their Last Will and Testament, a legacy to ensure lasting benefits for future generations.

Mr Gill was an extraordinary man with pragmatic business wisdom developed as an accountant, then nurtured as a passionate advocate for education.

Your bequest will help fund scholarships for students who may not otherwise have the opportunity to learn and grow at Toowoomba Anglican School.  It will help support bursaries for rural students who would not normally be able to attend a boarding school.  Your bequest could also help fund school Foundation projects such as new buildings and learning spaces.

We invite you to contact us if you are considering a bequest to our school so that we may arrange a meeting with Head of School, Mr Simon Lees. For further information please contact Peta Hawes via email: [email protected] or phone: 07 4639 8111
