The Lost Gardens of Queenie

at TAS

The Queenies Project is not merely a construction endeavour; it is a living and learning project that will evolve and grow over decades.

Many people have worked hard to bring this project to life and we are excited to retain the land as an outdoor learning area. Named after a school horse, Queenies Paddock is an area of land spanning 2.2 acres that is being regenerated as an outdoor learning. play and wellbeing centre. We thank the School Council and the Anglican Schools Commission for supporting the vision of the working group and maintaining the land as an outdoor space for future generations.

We express our deepest gratitude to the Parents & Friends Association for their generous donation of $100,000 towards the project. In addition, The TAS Alumni Association, School Foundation and P&F donated the combined profits of $36000 from the 50 Years of co-education Ball. Toowoomba Anglican School has committed an additional $1 million to enhance the space.

A dedicated working group, consisting of parents, students, past parents, staff members and alumni, was established three years ago to determine the optimal use of the land for all of our students. Thank you to Eva Porter from Porter Designs, Kehoe Myers Consulting Engineers Pty Ltd and Paul Kelly from Precinct Urban Planning.
