Get to know Prep at TAS

Research shows that the most critical ages for brain development is between the ages of two and seven, which is why TAS takes these fundamental years so seriously. One of the many aspects of early education that bears particularly high stakes is the acquisition of foundational literacy skills.

TAS was the first school in Toowoomba to implement the evidence-based early education program InitiaLit. The literary-based curriculum is transforming the way children learn to read and write and uses a specialised learning style to improve students reading ability and vocabulary while they are at an age when the brain is most pliable and able to soak in learning.

We are proud to have been at the forefront of the Systematic Synthetic Phonics movement in the Toowoomba Region and would love for you to hear about the results yourself at our next Come and Play days at TAS. We will have activities set up for children in our Kindergarten Centre and Prep Centre and parents will have the opportunity to meet with our wonderful teachers and Head of Primary.
